05.02.12 = A second look I’ve been getting ready for a few big art shows coming up and I’ve been spending some time going back through photo’s to see if there is anything I’ve missed that I can use. I’ve always liked this shot of the milk bottles to go with my vintage collection, but I never felt I had the right angle or something was just off. I played around with it a bit and now I’m kind of diggin’ it. I don’t know if it will go to print or not but it was worth a second look. “Did you ever stop to think and forget to start again?” Winnie the Pooh
01.12.11 = One moment, countless memories Today I want to wish my Mom and Dad a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! 54 Years today! Okay, it’s become impossible for me to write all the things I feel without welling up and crying like a baby here at my computer so, I will put that in card for them and not here. Anyway, when we were kids, every year on their anniversary, my Mother would get out their wedding album that she kept high on a shelf in their closet for us to look at. It’s a big white album with fancy gold lettering and it has a little wind-up music box that plays a tune. We would all sit down and she would slowly turn through the album photo by photo and recount the day as if it were just yesterday. Every year we would laugh at Dad’s hair cut and comment on how young they both looked. We loved seeing our grandparents and great grandparents all dressed up and having such a great time. Those photo’s had a big impact on me and one of ‘the’ reasons I love photography so much today. It’s those little frozen moments in time of a smile or a laugh that become captured forever for us to look back and remember as we slowly turn through the album of our lives. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad, I love you with all my heart.
