10.09.09 = From sunny corn fields yesterday to foggy corn fields today. I came across this foggy corn field the other day and pulled over in the rainy mist to shoot it. I played around with this one in PS to get a pen and ink type of look. (check out in XL) It’s fun to try out new things every once in a while. The scene reminded me of a few oil paintings I purchased last weekend at an art show from a young artist with a wise soul, Luke Stretar. His work just captured me with its depth. Check out his work at www.lukestretar.artpickle.com “Into every life a little rain must fall, some days must be dark and dreary.” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
11.14.09 = Another drive by shooting! Not my best but I loved that tree and the whole comp. I was shooting into very bright sunlight and as we all know, you don't get very good results that way. I marked my location on my GPS, so, I will have to hit this one again. As for a quote; The only thing that came to mind was that James Taylor song, "Walking Man" "Well the frost is on the pumpkin and the hay is in the barn, and pappy's come to rambling on stumbling around drunk down on the farm. And the walking man walks..."
02.26.10 = Snow on the farm Some of you may remember this shot from last fall. http://kdunlap.smugmug.com/Photo-Journal/2009-Through-my-eyes-Photo/7225906_AuSgs#712743069_NmThi I loved the composition of the shot however, I was shooting in such bright direct sunlight, that I couldn’t get a really good shot of it. I’ve always felt that I didn’t do the scene justice. I still love how that tree just curves into the barn as to protect it from the weather. Like a good friend watching over you. “True friendship comes when the silence between them is comfortable.” Unknown
