2011 the daily post - photo journal

I've named this gallery "The Daily Post" but I can't promise that I will post every day. This gallery is more of a journal of what's going on in my little section of this world we all share. Some days the photo may be better than the commentary and others, the commentary is much better than the photo. It's just a way to combine two of my favorite things, photography and speaking my mind. Here's to 2011! Kris :D

11.04.11 = Flashback Friday - Halloween 1995 <br />

This was one of my favorite years with my nieces and nephews. This is the year that my niece Kirby went as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and I went as the Wicked Witch. Some of you may have had the benefit of hearing my Wicked Witch impression… It’s been known to frighten small children and adults. Anyway, Kirby loved it when I did the witch. She used to say, “Do the weetch, do the weetch Aunt Kris”, so we just had to go together that year. She was only 3 1/2 at the time, but I think she wanted to be Dorothy just so she could wear the red sparkly shoes. She comes by that honestly and takes after our side of the family! I even went out and spent some money on a little stuffed Toto dog. It had to look like the actual Toto, no pink puppy would do. She carried him in a Longaberger basket which doubled as her candy basket. I did my Wicked Witch impression several times that night for the neighbors, all of who thought it was hysterical. Do you know, the following year, my sister got a call from a woman in the neighborhood, asking her if I was going to be out again this year as the Wicked Witch, as she wanted to prepare her son because he was so frightened the year before. My sister said GET OVER YOURSELF! It’s HALLOWEEN! Good times and great family! <br />
