09.07.11 = Precious Memories
This week has been difficult watching the tragic wild fires burn out of control in Texas. My heart and prayers go out to all those families who have lost their homes and are displaced. While watching and listening to the people interviewed, most of them had just minutes to evacuate their homes and take with them only a few possessions. Family, pets a few clothes of course and one thing that so many of them mentioned, were their photographs and photo albums. Now I know that I have a passion about my personal and family photo’s but it was enlightening to hear that so many hold their photographs so dear as well. It really made me think about the power of the photographs I take. They are all little frozen moments in time that have been captured to remember. They are of relatives who have passed and our hold of precious memories of them. They're of special trips and events of times spent with family and friends. They're of our big and little accomplishments. They are of our lives that we live today to be captured and remembered for tomorrow.

on September 8, 2011Such an emotional photo. My friend who lost everything in Katrina has told me numerous times that what she regrets most is not getting her photographs. She did evacuate and was thankful for surviving. She has no photos of her boys as they grew up and the family. I too realize how precious our photos are. I too am sending prayers for those in Texas who have lost and are displaced. Such a tragedy.
