I had the privilege of seeing the full solar eclipse yesterday from a lawn chair in my backyard. When it went into totality, there was a roar of "WhooHooo's" that echoed through the neighborhood and a few fireworks. Just like a sporting event, we all watched in awe as the universe got a little bit smaller. Now depending on where you were on the earth yesterday, your perspective and what you saw were all different. And this image that I've posted, is not exactly what I saw yesterday. I saw a dark sky and black moon with a white halo around it. It's not until I put my images into Adobe Lightroom that I noticed the rainbow of colors. I blew the image up, filtered the highlights, took out the noise, added some clarity and I was left with something more beautiful than I had first witnessed. I think we can all learn a lot from science and nature as long as we take a closer look, understand each others perspective, use our filters, take out the noise and see what is really there.
"Nations, like stars, are entitled to eclipse. All is well, provided the light returns and the eclipse does not become endless night. Dawn and resurrection are synonymous. The reappearance of the light is the same as the survival of the soul." ~Victor Hugo
