I have such great memories from this time in my life. It was a time when neighbors were like family. The doors were never locked and they just walked in with a, "Hello?". It was a time of backyard "weenie-roasts", as we called them, red, orange, and lemon-lime soda. We would beg for the older kids to spin us around in circles until we were too dizzy to stand. It was a time of innocence in my little world. Meanwhile, things where happening all around me, men were walking on the moon and there was a conflict going on in a far-away land called Vietnam. Some things changed not long after that, when one of the neighbor boys didn’t come home from that far-away land and then shortly after that we moved away. The families have all kept in touch through the years, each going our separate directions, but I think we all have such great memories of this time in our lives. A time of innocence for all.
"A time is was
And what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence
A time of confidences
Long ago it must be
I have a photograph
Preserve your memories
They're all that's left you."
