11.08.13 = Flashback Friday - Digby - 1999-2013
Last Friday, we lost a much loved family member, Digby Digby was my sister's dog; a loving, one-of-a-kind mutt, rescued from the pound as a puppy. I remember going with her to the pound and assisting in the rationalization on whether or not to bring the little fur ball home. But, he just had one of those faces and his loving eyes told a story. There was always the unanswered question of his pedigree. We believe he was half Wheaten Terrier and half Golden Retriever, however, my father always referred to him as a Blarney Terrier. (Irish humor) His loyalty and affection were his greatest tricks. Greeting my sister at her door every night when she came home from work and snuggling on the sofa in the evenings. He had bark that sounded like a seal and a playful growl that sounded like Chewbacca. Simple things like a tennis ball, the words, "outside" and "let's go" always made him happy. But nothing or no one made him more happy than my sister. They had a very special bond that will live on long past their years. Good Boy!
