06.28.13 = Flashback Friday - Dirt Diggers
A field of dirt, coffee cans and spoons. Yes, that was the entertainment my grandmother gave us one summer; and oh what fun we had! My sisters and I sat out in a field, in the June Kansas sun, and dug in the dirt. As I recall, we dug out a house floor plan, so to speak, and played house. We dug out pathways and little rooms. I remember we dug and formed a little bench and table. Only my oldest sister was allowed to get water from the hose, she was the foreman on the job. I remember her giving me spoonfuls of water, so I could form my little bench in the dirt. We played for hours out there. It's amazing the fun you can have with a few simple things and the creative genius of childhood.
