07.24.13 = The Next Generation With each generation comes new thoughts and ideas to change the "old ways" and make "new ways". Our responsibility as the preceding generation, is to listen and embrace the new enthusiasm with open minds. We are responsible for filtering and directing the old ways to new ways. As for the new generation, be patient and respectful; Rome wasn’t built in a day. Your time will come when you are on the other side of the fence. 07.23.13 = Final Show Well, this year was the final year for my nephew and 4H. I have really enjoyed watching him through the years with all his 4H projects. Even before he was old enough for 4H, he did the sheep lead at the fair. He's been showing the market hogs for many years and has also become quite accomplished in archery. He was president of his 4H division and he heads off to college next month to pursue an engineering degree. My how time flies. 07.25.11 = Showmanship Growing up in “Burbs” as I did, I had very little exposure to farm animals. The closest I really got was when we fed the goats at the zoo and the ducks at the pond, but I never milked a cow, raised a pig or bred rabbits. So it’s been fun watching my niece and nephew over the years at the fair with their 4H animals. The level of dedication and commitment to their animals has been a very proud observation. Congratulations Mitch, you’ve become quite a showman! “The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” Vince Lombardi

07.26.11 = Social Network 135, 236 and 13? So maybe plaid shirts and hogs are not your thing, it’s always nice to come out and support your friends. “Even though we’ve changed and we’re all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or a smile spreads across our face, we’ll come to each other. No matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we’re not all still friends.”

07.21.11 = Fair Time Well, it’s that time of year again; time for the Warren County Fair! Pigs, sheep, cows, chickens, horses, it’s all here. Not to mention the frozen lemonade, onion rings, waffle cakes, cotton candy and caramel apples! Yumm. Rides, games, bands. Just a little slice of Americana! “God Bless America”
