04.23.13 = This little Piggy
Well unfortunately, this little piggy will go to market. This is the last year my nephew will be participating in 4H with his market hogs. They raise and care for them and get them all fattened up for the fair and their final showing in July. The kids compete and show them in the ring. They are judged on showmanship, the size of the pig… One of the last nights of the fair, buyers come in and bid on all the hogs by the pound. The money he has earned over the past several years will come in handy for his freshman year in college this fall. What a great experience and appreciation for the cycle of life he has learned.
