05.08.10 = T Towels
Towels, towels, towels. There were always so many towels. It seemed that each one had a special purpose as well. Some were just for pots and pans, while others were for glasses and silver. Some were for everyday while others only came out for company. They were all made from different materials; some were thicker with textures, while others were thin and smooth. And the patterns…so many patterns and colors. I loved the embroidery on the ends from flowers and butterfly’s to the days of the week. I admire these women who took something so plain and utilitarian and made it beautiful. I think that’s one of the things moms do best.

on May 08There is a drawer of towels and doilies very similar to this in my family too. You photos and commentary this week sure are touching fond memories. Great shot with the varied colors and such fine sewing.
